Women's Basketball Drops Final Nonconference Game at Lander

GREENWOOD, S.C. - The Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball squad dropped a nonconference game at Lander University on Wednesday afternoon inside the Finis Horne Arena by a final score of 85-63.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Warhawks came out of the gate with a 6-0 lead after layups from Tian Addison, Danielle Luckey, and Jamya Tyus
  • Allasha Dudley connected on a three-pointer that pushed AUM in front 16-10 with 3:47 to go in the opening quarter. 
  • Lander started to heat up in the second quarter outscoring the Warhawks 28-17 and took a 43-38 lead into halftime. 
  • Addison got the second half started with a layup, and the Bearcats continued to maintain a strong lead and built into a 19 point lead towards the end of the quarter. 
  • AUM allowed a layup by Lander for the Bearcats to take a 25 point lead and ended up winning 85-62. 
NOTABLES
  • Luckey scored double-digits for the second consecutive game at 14. She also had three rebounds. 
  • Dudley finished with 12 points and dished out four assists. She scored twice from long-range. 
  • Gabby Litvak scored nine points and connected on a pair of three-pointers. She brought down seven rebounds. 
  • Brianna Sanchez blocked a pair of shots and grabbed five rebounds. 
  • Lander's Tanyia Gordon scored 30 points going 14-of-19 from the floor. 
FROM THE SIDELINE

"We had a promising start that lead to a very disappointing and embarrassing outcome," head coach Jon Plefka said. "When we learn to play team basketball consistently and execute the game plan to the best of our abilities, we will be successful. We will review the film and make the necessary adjustments in order to prepare us for conference play beginning on Saturday.
