Five Double-Figure Scorers Push Women's Basketball Past West Alabama

LIVINGSTON, Ala. - Five Auburn University at Montgomery women's basketball players posted double figures on Thursday night in a 72-56 victory against the University of West Alabama inside Pruitt Hall Gymnasium in a Gulf South Conference matchup.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Kamya Hollingshed knocked in a three-pointer at the 6:43 mark in the first quarter and it was followed by a layup from Tian Addison to give the Warhawks a 9-4 lead. 
  • Danielle Luckey got a layup to go, right before Allasha Dudley made a jumper to put AUM up 16-13. 
  • The Warhawks outscored the Tigers 27-16 in the second quarter and took a 43-29 lead into the break. 
  • The Tigers cut the Warhawk lead down to six points in the third quarter with 6:38 to go. Addison buried a three-pointer and eventually closed the quarter with a 11 point lead. 
  • Jamya Tyus scored a layup with nine minutes to go in the game. 
  • AUM stayed on track and earned the 72-56 victory. 
NOTABLES
  • Hollingshed scored 15 points, going 5-for-8 from the three-point line. She brought down five rebounds. 
  • Luckey and Addison scored 14 points each. Luckey grabbed 12 rebounds and Addison had four. 
  • Tyus and Dudley chipped in with 12 points. 
  • Grace O'Gara added five points and four assists. 
  • The Warhawks outrebounded the Tigers 37-35. 
  • AUM was 16-for-18 from the charity stripe.

"Great team win for us on the road at a very tough place to play." head coach Jon Plefka said. "We responded to their run in the third quarter and made key shots when we needed to."

AUM returns home to host Shorter University in a GSC tilt on Sunday, December 3 at 2 p.m. inside the AUM Athletics Complex.
