MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's soccer team used a second-half equalizer from
Sean Keane as the fourth-seeded Warhawks downed the fifth-seeded Christian Brothers University Buccaneers 5-3 on penalty kicks in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference tournament.
The Warhawks earned the program's third consecutive GSC tournament semifinals berth.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Christian Brothers's Paul Bobai scored his second goal of the season off an assist from Marco Osti in the 12th minute.
- AUM's Sean Keane wasted no time in the second half as he found the equalizer in the 46th minute off a throw-in from Landon Surratt.Â
- The two teams battled it out late in the second half but neither team could find the game-winning goal.Â
- In the first overtime period, William Blake saved a shot from CBU's Roberto Lagoa.
- As the two teams went into a penalty shootout, AUM's Frank Kouentchi, Luis Fernandes, Lucas Wilson, Logan Roach, and Sean Keane all bagged penalty kick opportunities. CBU's Marco Osit, Felipe Arteaga, Andres Solares all made PKs, but George Chandler missed his off the crossbar to help AUM advance.

- This was the first match to go to penalty kicks for the Warhawks since December 2, 2021 in the NCAA tournament against Young Harris College.Â
