MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's basketball team had their best defensive performance of the season against Georgia College & State University in the 80-56 victory on Tuesday night inside the AUM Athletics Complex.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warhawks trailed 4-0 in the early stages of the opening half, which was the only point in the game where they trailed, AUM responded with a 13-0 run and led 13-4 at the 13:09 mark after Malachi Rhodes connected on a pair of free throws.
- Sam Youngblood knocked down a three-pointer with seven minutes remaining and pushed AUM's lead to 22-14.
- Jalen Gaston found a three-pointer off an assist from Joseph Lanzi to make it 32-18. The Warhawks entered the halftime break leading 34-22.
- The Bobcats trimmed the lead down to eight with 19 minutes remaining in the second half, and the Jalil Robinson and Gaston responded with jumpers to bring the lead back to 12.
- Jelal Williams rocked the rim with a dunk off an offensive rebound at the 15:53 mark to make the score 44-29.
- AUM used a 14-2 run midway into the second half to give them a 22 point lead.
- The Warhawks held off the Bobcats from making it closer and earned the 80-56 win to close out nonconference play.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Rhodes scored 22 points in the game, which is a season-high for him. He also had four steals and nine rebounds.
- Anderson, Youngblood, and Gaston all scored in double figures and combined for 36 points on the night.
- The Warhawks had 47 rebounds in the game.
