CLEVELAND, Miss. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's basketball team used a 22-2 run in the second half to erase a big halftime deficit, but Delta State University closed the game on a 9-0 run to secure a Gulf South Conference win over the Warhawks on Friday night.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Delta State drilled eight-first half three-pointers en route to a 35-17 lead at the halftime intermission.
- Four quick points from Kolby Horace out of the locker room gave DSU its largest lead, 39-17, in the opening minute of the second half.
- AUM promptly sparked a monster 22-2 run to pull within one possession with 12:05 left in the game.
- Jalil Robinson scored 14 points during the run, including four three-pointers, and Jelal Williams added a pair of dunks.Â
- A trio of three-pointers helped the Statesmen on a 17-6 run of their own to balloon the lead back to double-digits at 58-45 with 6:54 left.
- Joe Lanzi drained a wing three-pointer and converted a transition dunk as part of a 9-0 run to help AUM pull back within a bucket with 2:25 remaining in the game.
- The Warhawks immediately forced a turnover and got multiple looks at a game-tying three-pointer before Delta State secured a rebound and finished the game with free throws.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Robinson tied his season-high with 23 points on 8-of-16 shooting. Robinson knocked down four of his seven triples, added four assists, and made it eight straight games in double figures to begin the season.
- Whitney scored 10 points and notched his fourth double-digit scoring effort.Â
- AUM out-rebounded Delta State 38-25 and also led the points in the paint battle 30-20.Â
- For the second time this year, the Warhawks turned the ball over north of 20 times.
