BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team got an RBI double from newcomer Jarren Wright in the top of the 10th inning to take a one-run lead, but Miles College found two runs in the bottom of the frame to walk off with a 4-3 win on Opening Day over the Warhawks at Rickwood Field.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Freeman led off the game with a base hit to left field and promptly stole second base. He came around to score with two outs on a wild pitch to put the visitors in front 1-0.
- AUM tallied three hits in the top of the second inning and managed to post another run to take a 2-0 lead. Kasey Clark led off the inning with a single to center field, and Cole McWhorter added a single to right field. Freeman then delivered an RBI single that plated Clark.
- Miles cut the lead in half in the fourth, when a one-out walk, a double, and an error plated a run for the Golden Bears.
- With the score tied 2-2, the teams went to extra innings, where AUM struck first.
- The Warhawks got an RBI double from Jarren Wright in the top of the 10th to take a 3-2 lead.
- Miles responded with an RBI double of their own in the last of the 10th to tie the game and added the walk-off winner on a fielder's choice.
ON THE MOUND
- Clay Slagle drew the Opening Day start and worked 2.0 scoreless innings. He allowed one hit and added one strikeout.
- Levi Clark allowed an unearned run in 2.0 innings of relief with a strikeout for AUM.
- Will Collins worked out of a two-on, one-out jam in the fifth inning. After an error and a single to begin the inning, Collins got a strikeout and a fly ball to right field to keep Miles scoreless.
- Clay Weatherly tossed a clean sixth inning with one strikeout.
- Grant Hickman allowed a run on three hits with four strikeouts in 2.1 innings.
- Michael Myers (0-1) was saddled with the loss after yielding two runs (one earned) on one hit with two strikeouts in one inning on the bump.
- Brett Pitts faced the final batter of the game for the Warhawks.
NOTABLES
- Freeman went 2-for-3 for the Warhawks with two singles, a walk, a run scored, an RBI, and a stolen base.
- Jackson Ceman added a trio of hits in a 3-for-4 effort.
- Clark went 1-for-4 with a run scored, while Cole McWhorter also went 1-for-3 with a walk on the afternoon.
- The Warhawks only struck out one time, while the AUM pitching staff posted 10 strikeouts against the Miles lineup.

AUM returns home to take on No. 16 Lenoir-Rhyne University in a three-game series beginning with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 4 at noon CT. Game two will follow approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one. Game three wraps up the series on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m. CT.
