CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The University of West Georgia outscored the Auburn University at Montgomery men's basketball team 29-9 in the game's final nine minutes to run away with an 86-66 Gulf South Conference win on Wednesday night.
Sam Youngblood led all Warhawks with 22 points. Youngblood played all 40 minutes of the game, went 8-of-13 from the field, and was 6-of-9 from beyond the three-point arc.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warhawks led 12-7 early in the game thanks to a trio of three-pointers by Sam Youngblood.
- A Roderick Smith jumper with 4:07 to go in the first half gave AUM its largest lead of the half at 30-21.
- UWG responded, however, to close the half on an 11-5 run to trim the Warhawks' halftime advantage to three at 35-32.
- An initial run by the Wolves out of the locker room gave the home team a five-point lead, but a layup and a three-pointer from Joseph Lanzi helped AUM battle back to a slim lead.
- The two squads found themselves tied at the 10:27 mark of the second half as Roderick Smith rolled in a tough layup to make it 57-57.
- It was all Wolves from that point forward, however, as a Zawdie Jackson layup sparked a 29-9 push over the final 9:02 to seal a UWG win.
NOTABLES
- Youngblood scored 22 in the game, including 19 and a 5-for-6 mark from downtown in the first half.
- The game marked the first of the year for Youngblood to eclipse the 20-point mark.
- AUM was out-rebounded 48-32 and was also out-scored in transition 28-6.
- The Wolves won the points in the paint battle 54-24.
- The Warhawks went 9-of-19 from three-point land, a 47 percent clip for the contest.
