WORDS FROM THE WARHAWKS

"We are obviously still very early in the season, but this felt like a game we needed to win," said head coach Marty Lovrich. "We feel like we have been on the opposite end of a few of these already this year, in terms of dropping a game we felt like we should have won, so it felt good to get this one tonight going into another big Gulf South Conference weekend on the road. I've been coaching for 30-something years now, and I can honestly say I think that is the most pitchers I have used to try and win a baseball game. I am still a little disappointed about our team having way too many easy outs in late-game situations or when the game gets close, so we have to get better about having better approaches and being a tough out in those spots. But it was another good team win. We needed eveything we got from everyone tonight. I'm super proud of Spivey in that spot...we have not had that big swing this season and we needed something like that. I am proud of the way we were able to grind it out. I am excited about our first pitch in Livingston, Ala. on Friday afternoon."
