JACKSON, Tenn. – In his first start of the season, Auburn University at Montgomery pitcher
Grant Hickman went the distance with seven strong innings to pick up his second win of the year and help the Warhawks take a weekend Gulf South Conference series against Union University.
Hickman (2-1) logged his first complete game in his first start for the Warhawks and scattered seven hits with three strikeouts against just two earned runs allowed. Offensively, third baseman
Zach Dew went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs scored as he extended his hitting streak to 19 games.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Union took the first lead of the game with an infield single to make it 1-0 after one frame.
- Following a Brody Syer walk and a Cooper Doughman double, Zach Dew clubbed a double to center field as AUM took a 2-1 lead.
- Later in the inning, Dew scored on a wild pitch as the Warhawks lead moved to 3-1.
- A single in the third inning and a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning helped the Bulldogs tie the contest 3-3 after five innings.
- Jarren Wright added an RBI on a sacrifice fly and Cole McWhorter singled home a run, both in the sixth, as AUM took a 5-3 advantage.
- Doughman added an RBI single through the left side to add an insurance run in the seventh for the Warhawks.

- The start for Hickman marked his first of the season for AUM's pitching staff.

The Warhawks host the University of Montevallo for a three-game weekend beginning on Friday, March 17 at 4 p.m. at Q.V. Lowe Field. The two temas then play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 18 beginning at 1 p.m.
