MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The University of Montevallo scored 25 combined runs to sweep a Gulf South Conference twin bill from the Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team by scores of 15-5 and 10-4 on Saturday afternoon at Q.V. Lowe Field.

GM 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- Ben Teel and Brody Syer traded solo home runs in the first inning as the teams were tied 1-1 after one frame.
- The Falcons swooped in for two runs in the third inning and six in the fourth to blow the game open and take a 9-1 lead.
- In the fifth inning, Cole McWhorter scored on a balk and Cooper Doughman added an infield RBI single to get two runs back.
- Doughman added a solo homer in the seventh, but the Falcons scored runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to put the game away.
GM 1 ON THE MOUND
- Clay Slagle fell to 2-3 on the year after allowing eight runs in three-plus frames.
- Lucas Baggett allowed a run on two hits in one relief inning, and Wade Chandler yielded a run on three hits in 2.1 relief innings.
- Logan Samuels moved to 4-0 after allowing three earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched.
GM 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- Kasey Clark singled to left to help AUM take a 1-0 lead in the first inning out of the gate in game two.
- The Falcons answered with two runs in the second, including an Asa Awbrey solo homer, to lead 2-1 after two.
- Jackson Ceman doubled home a run in the fourth as Montevallo held a narrow 3-2 edge through four frames.
- UM again put together a crooked inning, this time with five runs in the fifth inning, helped by a two-run homer by Teel.
GM 2 ON THE MOUND
- Andrew Cronan suffered the loss giving up five earned runs in four-plus frames.
- Brett Pitts allowed a run in one inning of relief work.
- JJ Pease moved to 4-0 with four earned runs allowed on 10 hits in 4.1 innings pitched.
NOTABLES
- Doughman went 5-for-8 between the two games with a double, a homer, and three singles. He also scored a run and drove in two.
- Phillips was 6-for-8 on the day with two doubles, a run, and an RBI.
- Clark went 2-for-4 in game two with his team-leading ninth double of the season.
- Syer hit his team-best fifth home run in game one of the doubleheader.
UP NEXT
The Warhawks host the University of Montevallo for a three-game weekend beginning on Friday, March 17 at 4 p.m. at Q.V. Lowe Field. The two temas then play a doubleheader on Saturday, March 18 beginning at 1 p.m.
