CLINTON, Miss. -- Andrew Cronan worked six innings and struck out a season-high seven hitters to pick up his third win of the season, the offense pounded out 12 runs on 15 hits, and the Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team secured a 12-6 win in the series opener at Mississippi College.

HIGHLIGHTS
- For the second straight game, a Kasey Clark two-run homer put the Warhawks on the board first 2-0.
- After MC took a 3-2 lead in the last of the second inning, Clayton Phillips rolled a two-run single through the left side as AUM jumped back in front 4-3.
- In the fourth, Cooper Doughman added a two-out RBI single to right field.
- The Warhawks added two runs in the fifth, as Zach Dew scored on a Jackson Ceman sacrifice fly and Phillips scored on a Brett Pitts RBI single.
- Brody Syer smashed a home run deep to right as part of a two-run sixth to make it 9-3 AUM.
- The Choctaws added three in the last of the seventh, but the Warhawks got all three back in the top of the ninth inning on a pair of clutch two-out hits. Another Pitts RBI single, and a two-run Clark single helped deliver a 12-6 win.

- Andrew Cronan (3-3) notched the start and the win as he struck out seven batters against three earned runs allowed.
- Grant Hickman (2) earned his second save of the year and struck out five in 2.2 relief innings.

- Clark hit a first-inning home run for the second consecutive contest.
- Cronan struck out a season-high seven. His previous high had been six, which he last put up in a 13-6 AUM win over Christian Brothers.
- Cronan's start included a stretch of nine consecutive men retired, ranging from the third inning to the sixth inning.
- Hickman struck out five of the 10 men he faced to up his team lead in that category to 46.
- Nine players scored at least one run for the Warhawks and six different players drove in at least one run.
- AUM scored double-digit runs for the 11th time this season.
