PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Despite giving up just seven runs on six hits combined in both games of the doubleheader, the Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team fell by scores of 4-3 and 3-0 on Friday afternoon at the hands of the University of West Florida Argonauts.
Andrew Cronan gave up four runs against three strikeouts in 7.1 innings in game one, while
Clay Slagle allowed three runs on four hits in six frames in the back half of the doubleheader.

GM 1 HIGHLIGHTS
- West Florida led 3-0 until Kasey Clark scored on a wild pitch in the fourth to make it a 3-1 game.
- An Argonauts' sacrifice fly in the eighth inning expanded the lead to three runs for the home team heading to the ninth frame.
- The Warhawks loaded the bases with nobody out in the top of the ninth inning and got sacrifice flies from Zach Dew and Jarren Wright, but were unable to complete the comeback as UWF held on to win by a run.
GM 1 ON THE MOUND
- Andrew Cronan (3-4) pitched 7.1 innings and allowed four runs on two hits. He walked one and struck out three.
- Lucas Baggett got the final two outs of the eighth with a flyout and a strikeout.
GM 2 HIGHLIGHTS
- The two teams combined for three runs on eight total hits in the second game of the doubleheader.
- West Florida got a two-run homer in the fourth inning and an RBI groundout in the sixth.
- The Warhawks were held off the board on just four hits offensively.
GM 1 ON THE MOUND
- Clay Slagle (3-4) allowed three earned runs on four hits with four walks in six frames. He struck out three West Florida hitters.
NOTABLES
- Cronan and Slagle combined to allow seven runs on six hits against five walks and six strikeouts in 13.1 innings on the mound.
- The two teams played the second game of the doubleheader in 56 minutes, the quickest game of the season for either team.
- Kasey Clark went 2-for-4 with two runs scored as the only Warhawk with multiple hits in the day's first game
- Four different Warhawks tallied one hit in the second game of the doubleheader.
UP NEXT
The Warhawks and Argonauts close out the series with a single game on Saturday, April 15. The game, originally scheduled for a noon first pitch, will now be played at 10 a.m.
