Brody Syer,
Jackson Ceman registered three hits and scored three runs, and
Kasey Clark clubbed a pair of doubles, but the Warhawks ultimately came up short in a showdown with 29th-ranked Valdosta State University on Friday night at Q.V. Lowe Field.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Both teams traded runs in the first inning thanks to a Valdosta State sacrifice fly and a two-out Brody Syer RBI single through the right side.
- Syer drove in his second run of the night with an RBI groundout to make it 3-2 Valdosta State after three innings.
- Two-way player JP Gates cracked a two-run home run to centerfield for the Blazers to open up a 5-2 lead.
- Kasey Clark added an RBI double in the seventh to pull the Warhawks a run closer, but a solo homer by the Blazers, their third of the night, helped seal a 7-3 win.
ON THE MOUND
- Clay Slagle (3-5) allowed five runs, four earned with one strikeout in six innings of work.
- Wade Chandler logged 3.0 innings of relief work. He allowed a pair of runs and struck out a pair of Valdosta State hitters.
NOTABLES
- Syer totaled his 19th multi-RBI game and Clark added his 21st multi-hit game of the season.
- Clark also tallied his 16th and 17th doubles of the season which moves him into a tie for first in the league in that category.
- Ceman posted three hits and scored three runs to tie his season-high in that category.
