SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team is scheduled to begin play in the 2023 NCAA Division II South Regional #2 on Friday, April 28 against the No. 3 seed Barry University in Saint Leo, Florida at 1 p.m. (CT) at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.
The Warhawks enter their first NCAA Regional as the No. 6 seed with a 16-8 overall record after advancing to the Gulf South Conference Championship match where the Warhawks fell short against Valdosta State University.
First Team All-GSC performer
Muhamad Bedwan leads the Warhawks with a 15-7 record in singles matches at the second and third courts. Bedwan has cracked into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Singles Rankings at No. 72.
Three-time GSC Freshman of the Week
Adrian Contreras has posted a 18-5 record in his singles matches on courts two, three, and four.
Titouan Le Maout has handled business with a 17-3 singles record on courts three, four, and five.
The doubles team of
Joao Guariente and
Giuseppe Bonaiuti have climbed into the doubles rankings at No. 50 in the nation after knocking off the second-ranked doubles team from the University of West Florida in the conference tournament.
THE OPPONENT
The Warhawks are taking on the three-time defending national champions in Barry as they carry a 19-5 overall record into the match and are on a six-match win streak after taking down Saint Leo University in the Sunshine State Conference Championship 4-3.
