FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Auburn University at Montgomery women's tennis squad opens the 2023 NCAA Division II South Region #2 Tournament on Monday, May 1 against the No. 3 seed and third-ranked team in the nation Saint Leo University on the campus of Nova Southeastern University at 1 p.m. (CT) at the NSU Tennis Complex at Rolling Hills. 
The Warhawks enter their second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Division II Tournament with a 18-5 overall record and finished the Gulf South Conference schedule posting a 9-1 record. AUM has climbed their way up to No. 13 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Rankings. 
Estefania Garcia was the only Warhawk to earn a spot on the All-GSC First Team with a 14-7 record on the first court. She is 7-3 in her last 10 matches and is riding a two-match win streak into the South Region. The sophomore is ranked No. 68 in the ITA Singles Rankings. 
Regina Urbiola and 
Ana Villalvazo were named to the All-GSC Second Team after a impressive season. Urbiola tallied a 14-6 record at the second and third courts and is currently ranked No. 61 in the ITA Singles Rankings. Villalvazo owns a 17-2 record on courts three and four. She has posted six wins in a row. 
Ane Ibarra has posted a 14-1 record in singles action, playing on the back three courts. 
The doubles team of Garcia and Urbiola carry a 16-4 record in doubles and have a ranking of No. 7 in the ITA Doubles Rankings. 
This will be the second time this season the two teams have met as the Lions bested the Warhawks on March 4 by a final score of 4-2.  
THE OPPONENT 
Saint Leo enters the tournament at No. 3 in the ITA Rankings and are 20-5 after finishing third place in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament. They have three singles players ranked in the top 50 in the ITA Singles Rankings.
