MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team closed out the 2023 Warhawk Invitational with a bang, as they swept Southern Arkansas University 3-0 on Saturday afternoon inside the AUM Athletics Complex.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warhawks jumped out to a 4-0 lead after a pair of errors from the Muleriders and a couple of kills from Maya Thompson. AUM held momentum the entire set until SAU cut the Warhawk lead to 12-11 midway through the set. The Warhawks rallied and extended the lead to 21-15 and eventually closed the set 25-18 after Kendall McCain dished an assist to Myllena Torquetti for the kill.
- The second set began with a bad set from the Muleriders and was followed by back-to-back kills from Ruth Sconocchini and Keren Santana. AUM was able to hold off Southern Arkansas from taking a lead and the Warhawks clinched the second set 25-20 after an attack error on SAU.
- Auburn Montgomery's Kaleigh Fitzgerald had a service ace that allowed AUM to take a 6-2 lead in early goings of the set. The Warhawks held all the momentum in the set after a kill by Torquetti gave AUM a 10-6 lead. AUM took the third set 25-13 and clinched the 3-0 match.
STATS OF THE MATCH
- Sconocchini and Torquetti posted double-digit kills with 14 and 12.
- Amber Bretwisch had a season-high of assists with 20 and Savannah Sebek posted 15.
- Thompson had three blocks in the match and also posted six kills.
- The Warhawks had 45 digs on the night and was lead by Alessia Cappai who had nine.
