HIGHLIGHTS
- After taking an early lead in the first set, the Lady Choctaws opened up a six-point advantage late in the first set.
- Two MC hitting errors, an ace from Amber Bretwisch, and two kills from Sconocchini helped AUM get within four, but the home team solidified a 25-20 set-one win.
- A back-and-forth second set saw neither team gain more than a two-point advantage until late in the set.Â
- Sconocchini added a kill to tie the second set 21-21, but after an MC timeout, the home team used three kills and an AUM attack error to take set two 25-21.
- Both teams also played the third close, as AUM led much of the set. Myllena Torquetti's kill put AUM on top 3-2, and AUM kept the advantage until the Lady Choctaws slipped in front 22-21 late.Â
- The Warhawks successfully fended off a match point and drew the score even 26-26 on another Sconocchini kill.Â
- MC responded with a timeout but promptly delivered two attack errors after the break, the last of which resulted in a Kyle Ffrench block as AUM secured set three by a count of 28-26.
- The home team took care of business in the fourth and final set, as the Ladt Choctaws got out to a sizeable lead that proved insurmountable for the Warhawks.Â
