PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Auburn University at Montgomery volleyball team was defeated 3-0 in a Gulf South Conference matchup against No. 16 University of West Florida on Friday night inside the UWF Fieldhouse in Pensacola, Florida.

HIGHLIGHTS
- The Warhawks took an early 4-3 lead in the first set, but the Argos responded with a 6-0 rally to take control of the set. The Warhawks cut the lead to 11-9 after a service error on West Florida. UWF ended up taking the set 25-13 and a 1-0 lead in the match.
- Auburn Montgomery and West Florida battled it out in the second set. AUM held a 18-17 lead after a kill from Alessia Cappai, but West Florida regrouped and captured the set 25-20 and took a 2-0 advantage in the match.
- West Florida controlled the third set, much like the first. The Argos jumped out to a 10-3 lead and eventually extended the lead to 16-4. AUM found some momentum and cut the lead to single digits to 18-9, but West Florida secured the match and won the set 25-14.
STATS OF THE MATCH
- Amber Bretwisch and Savannah Sebek combine for 19 assists, with Bretwisch leading the Warhawks with 12.
- Cappai posted nine kills on the night and had three digs.
- Kaleigh Fitzgerald led the Warhawk defense with seven digs.
- Myllena Torquetti had a solid night with five kills and a block assist and solo block.
- Kyla Ffrench tallied three kills on the night and had one block assist.

The Warhawks travel to Livingston, Alabama to take on the University of West Alabama in a GSC match on Tuesday, September 26 at 6 p.m.
