LAKELAND, FLA. -- The Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team opened the 2023 fall schedule this past weekend at the Initercollegiate Tennis Association South Region Individual Championships in Lakeland, Florida, hosted by Florida Southern College and the Beerman Tennis Center.

Men's Open Singles
AUM's Adrian Contreras on the men's side found his way to the quarterfinals of the men's open singles consolation bracket knocking out Mario Kirkov (6-4, 6-3) from Eckerd College in the consolation round of 16 and falling to Sebastian Rondon (3-6, 2-6) of University of West Florida in the consolation quarterfinals. 

Men's Open Doubles
In the men's open doubles main bracket, Contreras and Titouan Le Maout reached the quarterfinals. They picked up wins over Florida Southern's Chris Fok Kow and George Russell (8-7) and University of Montevallo's Samuel Parsons and Simon Luigs (8-5). Contreras and Le Maout were defeated by the number one seeded team from Valdosta State. Joao Guariente and Giuseppe Bonaiuti also advanced to the quarterfinals in the main bracket by defeating Rollins College's Efe Comu and Luke Quaynor (8-4).

The Warhawks fall schedule continues October 6-8 at the Mercer Gridiron Classic before closing the fall schedule out in Montgomery, Alabama in the Gulf South Conference Individual Tournament on November 3-5.
