TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The Auburn University women's cross country team finished 17th in a field of 35 teams at the 2023 Florida State Invitational on Friday morning at Apalachee Regional Park.
The Warhawks were paced by sophomore Kenlie Nelson, who ran a 5K time of 19:24.80, good for 10th-fastest in school history.

SCORING FIVE
- Nelson placed 91st in a field of 341 runners with her 5K time of 19:24.80.
- Second for the Warhawks was freshman Adley Burkes, who ran a 19:44.60 5K time.
- Nicole Luther finished third on the team in a time of 19:55.40.
- Fourth for the Warhawks was Abagail Little, who ran a 20:16.50.
- Rounding out AUM's scoring runners was Mary Bradley Herbert, who raced a 20:20.30.
NOTABLES
- Nelson now sits with the sixth, seventh, ninth, and 10th-fastest 5K times in school history.Â
- Burkes finished in the scoring-five for the Warhawks for the third race in a row to open up her collegiate career.
- Herbert ran the fastest 5K time of her career.

"We definitely left some points out on the course on both sides," said head coach Ryan Thompson. "I am not disappointed at all in our team results on the women's side, but I think both of our teams left the course feeling like they could have run faster."
