TROY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team played a doubleheader against Division I foe Troy University on Friday at the Lunsford Tennis Complex and the Trojans took both matches by final scores of 6-0 and 7-0 in exhibition action.

- Court six was the first to finish with Marquez falling 6-1, 6-1 against Nicolas Simkin.
- Contreras fell 6-0, 6-4 against Martens on court three.
- Troy took a 4-0 advantage after Serrano took down Guariente on the first court 6-1, 6-2 to clinch the match.
- Verdasco dropped court five 6-4, 6-2 against Vincente Arbelaez.
- Bonaiuti took a loss on the second court against Anton 7-6, 6-1.

FIRST SERVE – DOUBLES
- Guariente and Bonaiuti dropped court one 6-4 against Anton and Martin Serrano.
- Le Maout and Verdasco took the second court 7-5 against Martens and Ambrosio to even the doubles court.
- Troy took the doubles point against Marquez and Contreras in a battle 7-6 to take the 1-0 lead.
FIRST SERVE – SINGLES
- Bonaiuti played at court one and dropped the match 6-2, 6-2 against Martinez.
- Guariente was defeated 6-0, 6-1 against Anton on the second court.
- Le Maout lost the first set 6-0 and had a battle in set two, but was defeated 7-5 against Martens.
- Contreras and Ambrosio battled it out on court four and Ambrosio earned the win 7-5, 7-5.
- Verdasco played against Pastor over on court five and Pastor took the win 6-3, 6-0.
- Marquez was on court six and Arbelaez picked up the win 6-1, 6-1.

"I think we competed really well against a quality Division I program," head tennis coach
Michael O'Brien said. "I was happy with our energy in doubles and came close to winning the point. I thought everyone competed well in our first match of the season in very windy conditions against a really good opponent."
