MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- After a sluggish first half, the Auburn University at Montgomery men's basketball team outscored the University of West Alabama 42-21 in the second half en route to a 69-58 win in the Gulf South Conference play.
The Warhawks, who did not lead in the first half, shot 34 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes before shooting a 56-percent clip in the second half. AUM also forced 11 second-half turnovers.
Malachi Rhodes led all scorers with 18 points, while
Travis Anderson contributed 17 points.
Jalil Robinson's 10 points rounded out AUM's double-figure scorers.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Tied 10-10 after a Travis Anderson three-pointer, West Alabama used a 24-7 onslaught to take its largest lead of the game with 5:26 to play in the opening half.
- A layup by Jalen Gaston and seven points from Malachi Rhodes sparked a 10-3 spring by the Warhawks to close trailing 37-27.
- Down 10 at the break, AUM used some tight defense of its own to help get themselves back in the game.
- Two free throws by Rhodes capped a 22-11 run as AUM captured its first lead of the night, 49-48, with 9:05 to play in the game.
- After UWA stole the lead back, Gilbert Croley drained a three-pointer to swipe the lead back 52-50.
- Croley added another three-pointer as AUM pushed its lead to five with 4:39 to go.
- The Tigers got back within two on a Kuran Garner layup, but a 12-3 run to close the game iced the win for the Warhawks.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Warhawks forced 18 turnovers in the game and scored 24 points off those turnovers.
- AUM out-rebounded West Alabama 37-30, which included a 14-11 advantage on the offensive glass.
- Two blocks each from Gaston, Rhodes, and Croley helped AUM tie its season-high with six blocks.
- Gilbert Croley drained two key three-pointers and blocked a pair of shots in 14 minutes off the bench to help key the second-half comeback.
- AUM more than doubled UWA's bench-scoring production on the night. The Warhawks' bench scored 27 points, while West Alabama got just 10 points from its bench.
