Warhawks win in overtime, 73-71

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Auburn University at Montgomery Women's Basketball (3-3, 1-0) opened up GSC play with an overtime win, 73-71 against Trevecca Nazarene (2-5, 0-1).

AUM has now won its third straight game and was led by two seniors on Thursday night to start conference play. Allasha Dudley recorded 27 points, five steals with five made three-pointers, while Danielle Luckey had 16 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks.

Trevecca led in the first quarter 14-5 at one point, but AUM would go on a run to end the quarter 18-16 after five lead changes. The Trojans were able to grab nine offensive rebounds and gain a 12-2 advantage in second chance points. 

Despite the rebound struggles, AUM's defense stepped up to end the first half and held a 36-34 advantage. Dudley recorded 11 points on three made three-pointers, While Amaya Thomas paced Trevecca with 10 points.

Coming out of the break, the Trojans scored 11 unanswered points to recapture the lead with Tatum Shaw scoring 13 points in the third quarter. Trevecca entered the fourth with a 52-50 lead over AUM.

Once again, Trevecca opened the final quarter strong on an 8-0 run to lead 60-52. AUM fought back and tied the game at 62 with 14 seconds left after Dudley hit her fifth three of the game and would eventually send the game to overtime.

The Warhawks were perfect from the field in overtime to hold on for the 73-71 victory in their opening game of conference play.

AUM continues GSC play and will host Lee on Saturday, December 7 with tip-off set for 2:00 p.m. CT.
