MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The AUM women's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to Mississippi College at the AUM Athletics Complex on Saturday.
 
AUM (4-7, 1-1 Gulf South) hit just .206 and managed only three service aces in the loss. MC (4-6, 2-1) earned its second-consecutive victory with the 25-22, 25-19, 25-17 decision.
 
AUM's Greta Corrente led all players with 14 kills.
 
MC hit .289 and was paced offensively by Lydia Paulette's 12 kills.
 
Set 1
Neither team led by more than a point until AUM grabbed a 13-11 lead. They continued to play side out ball until MC won back-to-back points for a 21-19 lead. After two more Lady Choctaw points, Corrente had a pair of kills to pull the Warhawks within 23-21 but MC won the set 25-22. The Warhawks hit .314 but had six service errors.
 
Set 2
With the score tied at 15, the Lady Choctaws gained control of the set with four kills and an AUM hitting error for a 20-15 lead on their way to a 25-19 win.
 
Set 3 
MC led 13-8 before AUM went on a 3-0 run to pull within two. The Warhawks trimmed the deficit to 17-16 but saw the Lady Choctaws end the match on an 8-1 run with three aces in the stretch.

AUM will conclude it's 6-match homestand on Tuesday at 6 p.m. when it plays host to Valdosta State (6-5, 0-1).
