CLEVELAND, Tenn. – Auburn University at Montgomery Women's Basketball (7-10, 5-7) picked up the win on the road at Lee (14-4, 8-4) 68-52, led by
Danielle Luckey with 16 points and 18 rebounds.
The senior from Pensacola, Fla. recorded her seventh double-double of the season and leads the GSC in rebounds this season at 9.6 per game. Her 18 rebounds tied her career-high at AUM.
AUM held the Lady Flames to just 31% from the field and 18% from three.
A slow start to Thursday's game as the first bucket for either side didn't come until Luckey's layup at the 5:30 mark in the first quarter. Aum held Lee to just 29% shooting but only led 12-7 after the Lady Flames grabbed five offensive rebounds in the first quarter.
The Warhawks went into the half with a 28-27 lead but were outscored 20-16 in the second quarter. Luckey was the only scorer in double figures for either side as she recorded 10 points and seven rebounds.
AUM trailed for most of the third quarter before a 11-0 run got them back in front to end the quarter up 48-43.
In the fourth, the run for the Warhawks continued as the lead increased to 11 with six minutes to play. They would control that lead and pick up a tough win on the road at one of the top teams in the conference, 68-52.
AUM will return to action on the road Saturday at Trevecca with tipoff slated for 2 p.m. CT.
