MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks women's soccer team (1-6-2, GSC: 0-4-2) hosted the West Florida Argonauts (8-0-2, GSC: 5-0-1) for Mental Health Awareness Night at the AUM Soccer Complex Friday evening. UWF came out on top with a 4-0 victory in Gulf South Conference action.
Courtney Pigford posted a shot on goal for the Warhawks.
Karla Guzman-Ortiz tallied 10 saves against 14 shots faced from the visiting Argos.
HOW IT HAPPENED
UWF found the back of the net in the 8th minute with a penalty kick score by Olof Thorvaldsdottir. Later in the first half, in the 14th minute, Megan Gettys scored unassisted to put the team up 2-0.
Hunter Wallace scored in the 49th minute with an assist from Thorvaldsdottir, and Marianna Camacho Montufar connected on a goal in the 60th minute to cap the scoring and give the Argos a 4-0 victory.
