AUM Falls At CBU, 91-68

Trent Coleman and Chappelle Whitney each had 18 points for the Warhawks

MEMPHIS - The AUM men's basketball team was unable to match the strong shooting for Christian Brothers and lost to the Bucs, 91-68, at Canale Arena on Thursday.

AUM (9-12, 6-10 Gulf South) was led by Trent Coleman and Chappelle Whitney, who each finished with 18 points as the only Warhawks in double digits. 

CBU (9-12, 5-10) shot 51 percent in each half and had four starters in double figures as they won both games from AUM this season. Tane Kirisome lead all players with 32 points, connecting on 11-of-16 from the floor and 6-of-8 3-pointers.

The opening minutes of the game went back and forth, with e teams trading buckets. With the score knotted at 23, CBU went on a 9-0 run to seize control of the half. The Bus took a 43-33 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, CBU extended its lead to 52-37 with a 7-0 run early on. The Warhawks secured a 10-0 run that saw triples from both Whitney and Coleman to pull within 61-57 with 11:22 to play. But the Bucs got back-to-back 3-pointers from Kirisome to key a stretch of 11-consecutive, stretching the margin back to 15 with 8:13 remaining. The CBU lead stayed in the low teens before ending the game on a 9-0 run for the final margin.

AUM will travel to Jackson, Tennessee on Saturday where it will face Union (11-10, 7-8). Tip-off at Fred DeLay Gymnasium is set for 4 p.m.
