MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team dropped its Gulf South Conference series finale to Christian Brothers, 22-4, Saturday at QV Lowe Field.
The Warhawks (7-19, 4-11 GSC) were led at the plate by
Tyrese Rooks, who finished 2-for-3 with a double, a run batted in and a run scored. The senior added a stolen base.
Kyle Hipp and
Chance Sweeney also collected RBIs.
Brendan York walked three times and scored a run.
Jalen Smith led the CBU (9-14, 4-11 GSC) offense with three hits and six RBIs. Sam Walker also added a game-high four hits and three runs batted in. Jackson Licata scored a game-best four runs.
Heath Henley (1-1) took the loss for AUM, scattering four hits and giving up five runs in 1 2/3 innings pitched.
Andrew Gillis and
Jackson Leggett-Walford both made their first appearance of the season in the contest.
Eli Potter earned the victory, allowing two runs in 4 2/3 innings of relief. Potter improved to 2-0 on the season.
The Warhawks will return to action on Tuesday, March 18, when they travel to Rome, Ga., to take on Shorter. First pitch is slated for noon.
