ROME, Ga. - The AUM baseball team managed just two hits in a 7-0 road loss to Shorter at the Ledbetter Baseball Complex on Tuesday.
AUM (7-20) will return to play this weekend with a road series at Alabama Huntsville.
Brendan York and
Tyrese Rooks had the only hits for the Orange and Black. Three other players drew walks.
On Tuesday, the Warhawks had leadoff runners on in the first and fourth innings before hitting in to double plays.
Shorter scored a run in the first on a sacrifice fly, holding the 1-0 lead through the sixth inning. In the seventh, the Hawks got a pair of RBI doubles and a 2-run home run by Will Fincher to extend the lead to 5-0. They concluded the scoring in the eighth on a sac fly and a RBI double by Fincher.
Jackson Reed (1-2) allowed just one run in three innings, while striking out three and surrendering one hit.
