HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Auburn University at Montgomery women's soccer team traveled to face the Coker University Cobras, and dropped a 2-0 decision Friday afternoon at Coker Athletic Field.
AUM dropped to 1-2-0 on the young season, while Coker improved to 3-1-0.
Natlaie Nelson led the way with two shots for the Warhawks, while
Aisling Roche and
Chloe Wallace both finished with a shot on goal.
Karla Guzman-Ortiz (1-2) collected six saves in the loss.
As a unit, AUM took five shots with two SOGs. Coker posted 14 shots and tallied nine SOGs.
The Cobras scored in the 44th minute on an unassisted goal from Grace Sykes to give the team a lead heading into the halftime break.
Ella Wilke later scored in the 52nd minute unassisted to put Coker up 2-0, which held as the final score.
Isabella Rychel spearheaded the Cobras' offense with three shots and two SOGs.
AUM returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 17, at 6 p.m. in the Warhawks' home opener, at the AUM Soccer Complex, against Gulf South Conference opponent Montevallo. Links to live stats and FloSports are available on
