MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks men's basketball team (3-11, GSC: 1-7) fell to the West Alabama Tigers (14-1, GSC: 9-0) 75-61 on Thursday evening from the AUM Athletics Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
A hot start for the Tigers gave them an early 11-0 lead before
Jamarious Martin's three-point bucket ended their streak. The Warhawks gathered four points off free throws, but not without West Alabama extending their lead to 20-7.

Over the next few minutes,
Marius Canery and
Devin Barksdale each nailed triples, however, the visitors continued to surge ahead to a 30-14 advantage.

The Tigers took 11 of the next 12 points, setting their lead at 41-15 with about four minutes remaining in the first half.

Jayden Doyle hit a pair of threes and
Omar Zeigler followed with one of his own, but West Alabama held onto a 49-27 lead at the halftime break.

Second Half
The first three minutes of the second half saw an exchange of points, pushing UWA's lead to a score of 56-33. Martin hit another three-point dagger, but the opponents answered with the next five points.

Colby Williams scored AUM's next 10 points, while the Warhawks defense held UWA to just six.

The Warhawks trimmed the deficit to 15 points with about six minutes remaining. AUM continued to battle until the final whistle, but West Alabama ultimately secured the 75-61 victory.
