MONTGOMERY, Ala. -Â The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks women's basketball team (2-12, GSC: 2-6) pushed the University of West Alabama to overtime before falling 99-95 on Thursday night at the AUM Athletics Complex. AUM was led by sophomore
Tamora Brown, who recorded a season-high 41 points in the overtime contest.
First Quarter
The Warhawks totaled 11 points in the opening quarter, with Brown getting AUM on the board by scoring the team's first two points of the night.
Ameyah Gray followed with a three-pointer, while Brown added three more points as the quarter progressed.
Samya Brooks and
Nevaeh Small contributed two points to round out the Warhawks' scoring in the opening period.

Second QuarterÂ
The Warhawks put together a dominant second quarter, outscoring West Alabama 26-6 to take control of the game. Gray knocked down two three-pointers during the quarter, while
Andie Flatgard made her presence known, adding a triple of her own.
Keziah Seay chipped in two points as the Warhawks continued to build momentum.

AUM grabbed the lead at 30-29 when Small converted a layup, sparking a strong stretch on both ends of the floor.

Brown closed the half by scoring the final six points of the quarter, giving her 12 points in the period and sending AUM into halftime with a 37-31 advantage.

Third Quarter
The Warhawks came out firing in the third quarter, opening the period with Flatgard drawing a foul and converting a three-point play to spark the offense. Brown soon took over, going on an 8-0 run of her own before setting up Brooks for a layup as AUM continued to pull away.

Shelby McAllister added two points to make her presence felt, while the Warhawks maintained control throughout the quarter. AUM outscored West Alabama 30-22 in the period, pushing its lead to 67-53 heading into the fourth.

Brown was the driving force in the quarter, pouring in 17 points to fuel the Warhawks' offensive surge.
Fourth Quarter
The Warhawks and Tigers battled through a tightly contested fourth quarter that ended with the score knotted at 87-87, forcing overtime. McAllister opened the quarter with a basket and later delivered in the closing moments, scoring the final three points of the period to tie the game with 7.1 seconds remaining.

McAllister scored eight points in the quarter, while she, Brown, and Small accounted for all 20 of AUM's points in the final period of regulation.

Overtime
Flatgard opened the overtime period with a two-point basket to give the Warhawks an early edge. McAllister followed by knocking down her third three-pointer of the night before adding another point at the free throw line.Â

West Alabama was able to respond, tying the game at 95-95 before pulling away in the final moments to secure a 99-95 victory.Â
