AUM Honors Four Seniors; Drop GSC Test to Falcons

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks men's basketball team (5-19, GSC: 3-15) honored four seniors before falling 73-60 to the Montevallo Falcons (17-6, GSC: 13-4) on Saturday evening from the AUM Athletics Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
Jamir Williams opened the game with a slam dunk before Montevallo's Derek Moore hit a three. After a Ti'Avian Scruggs layup, the visitors scored 10 consecutive points to secure a 13-4 lead.

Jayden Doyle ended the Flacons' streak with a jumper before an exchange of points brought the game to the under 12-minute media timeout with Montevallo leading 18-9.

The Warhawks cut their deficit to six points after a three-point dagger from Omar Zeigler and a pair of free throws from Jamarious Martin.

The Falcons took nine of the next 10 points, regaining the 10-point lead they held earlier in the half at a score of 35-21.

Devin Barksdale knocked down a triple to halt the opponents, before scoring the next three points himself. A few free throws ended the first half with Montevallo leading 37-28.

Second Half
The Warhawks scored the first three points of the second half followed by a three-point splash from Martin not much later.

The long-range battle continued as two Falcons hit three pointers and Scruggs followed with one of his own. Montevallo landed three more triples before the under 12-minute media timeout, extending their advantage to 56-42.

A flurry of Montevallo three-point buckets matched by some solid shooting from the orange and black brought the game to a close with Montevallo taking a 73-60 victory.
