NEW ORLEANS, La. - Five members of the Auburn University at Montgomery men's cross country team earned All-Academic Athlete honors for the 2025 NCAA Division II season, as announced Thursday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
In order to qualify for individual All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
The Warhawks were represented by Parker Draughon (Secondary Education), Brexton Hathaway (Computer Science), John Mathison (Mathematics), Caleb Yoder (Kinesiology), and Liam Zadoorian (Computer Science).
To qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period and compile a team score at their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers.
Led by head coach Ryan Thompson, the AUM men's cross country team posted a 3.36 overall team GPA.
MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
Parker Draughon competed in five meets during the 2025 season, highlighted by a 35:15.2 performance at the NCAA Division II South Region Championships. He also represented the Warhawks at the GSC Championships.
Brexton Hathaway turned in a strong season with a top-10 finish at the Montevallo Falcon Classic and solid performances at the GSC Championships and NCAA South Region Championships.
John Mathison recorded a top-30 finish at the GSC Championships and a 34:20.7 effort at the NCAA South Region Championships, competing in six meets for AUM.
Caleb Yoder led the Warhawks with multiple top-25 finishes, including a fifth-place result at the UNA Invitational and a 40th-place finish at the NCAA South Region Championships.
Liam Zadoorian competed in six meets during the 2025 campaign, highlighted by a top-20 finish at the Montevallo Falcon Classic and a solid showing at the NCAA South Region Championships.
