MONTGOMERY, Ala – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks men's tennis team (0-1) fell to the No. 11 Columbus State Cougars (1-0) 6-1 as their home opener at the AUM Tennis Complex on Friday afternoon.
DOUBLES
Despite
Augustin Wallaert and
Harry McDonagh pushing CSU's Hugo Didier and Benedek Szombathelyi to a 7-6 result at the No. 3 doubles position, the Cougars were able to win all three doubles games and kick off the match with the first point.
SINGLES
Although Guillermo Sanchez and
Harry McDonagh pushed their opponents to a third set, the Cougars were able to win the first four singles games at the No. 1, 4, 5, and 3 positions.
Jami Savolainen highlighted the singles courts for the Warhawks with a 5-6, 7-6 (7-1), 6-4 victory over CSU's Hugo Didier at the second slot.

The Warhawks are back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 11 in Birmingham, AL for a battle with UAB at 2 p.m.
