Warhawks Softball Remains No. 6 in National Rankings

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released its Week Seven edition of the NCAA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll on Tuesday, with the Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks softball team holding steady at No. 6 in the nation. AUM continues to rank among the nation's elite programs, marking its seventh consecutive week inside the top 10.
 
Perfect Week for the Warhawks 
AUM put together another impressive week, sweeping a midweek doubleheader against Georgia Southwestern and taking all three games of its Gulf South Conference series against Christian Brothers. The Warhawks opened the week with a dominant 8–0, six-inning victory before completing the sweep with a 10–0 win in five innings. The Warhawks then visited Christian Brothers, earning back-to-back 7–5 wins in the first two games before closing out the series with a 10–2 victory in game three.

AUM's pitching staff played a key role in the Warhawks' perfect week, combining for a 2.63 team ERA while allowing just 12 runs over five games. Reese Cauley led the charge with wins in game one against Georgia Southwestern and games one and three against Christian Brothers, going 3–0 with three complete games, 20.0 innings pitched, 27 strikeouts, and a .183 batting average against. Sydni Free was flawless in game two against Georgia Southwestern, tossing a five-inning shutout while allowing only two hits and one walk. Alivia Messick contributed out of the bullpen, recording a save in game two against Christian Brothers. On defense, AUM remained sharp, committing no errors and turning a pair of double plays to support the pitching staff throughout the week.
 
AUM Out of the Park
At the plate, the Warhawks were unstoppable, posting a .362 team batting average with 50 hits and 42 runs scored across five games. AUM tied the program's Division II record with five home runs in a single contest in its 10-2 victory over CBU in game three. Karris Rhine led the charge, hitting .429 with six hits, seven runs, seven RBI, and three home runs while totaling 15 bases and going 2-for-2 in stolen bases. Chloe Baynes had a standout week as well, batting .500 with nine hits, eight runs, four RBI, a double and a triple, and successfully stealing four of five bases while drawing two walks for a .550 on-base percentage. Rebecca Komers also made her mark, hitting .429 with six hits, four runs, eight RBI, and three doubles while reaching base twice via walks. Several other Warhawks contributed key hits during the week: Meredith Kellum batted .429 with a .429 on-base percentage, Reese Cauley hit .400 with six RBI and a home run, and Jasmine Sneed went .333 with two home runs and three walks. The balanced offensive attack helped the Warhawks generate consistent run support and power throughout the week.
