COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team (11-31) dropped a road matchup to the Columbus State Cougars (25-15), falling 11-1 on Tuesday afternoon at the Burger King Stadium at Ragsdale Field, with the contest concluding after seven innings. 

The Warhawks struck first in the opening inning, as center fielder Christopher McNeill led off with a double down the left field line, advanced to third on a passed ball, and came around to score on an RBI groundout from Luke Turner to give AUM an early 1-0 advantage. 

Columbus State answered in the second inning, stringing together three hits to plate four runs and take a 4-1 lead. The Cougars continued to build momentum in the third, using a combination of hits, walks, and hit-by-pitches to score five more runs and extend the lead to 9-1. 

The Cougars added two more runs in the fourth inning off three hits, pushing the advantage to 11-1. 

AUM was held scoreless over the final six frames as the contest concluded in seven innings. 

Notables 
Christopher McNeill led the offense, going 1-for-3 with a double and scoring the Warhawks' lone run.  

Luke Turner drove in AUM's only run with an RBI groundout in the first inning.  

Kyle Hipp and Landon Baeder each recorded one hit as AUM totaled four on the day. 

Defensively, AUM turned in 18 putouts and 10 assists.

AUM baseball will be back on Friday, April 14, for their final home series of the season against Delta State at the AUM Basevall Complex. First pitch is set for 5 pm.
