MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Gulf South Conference announced its weekly men's tennis awards on Wednesday morning, with Auburn University at Montgomery's senior Giuseppe Bonaiuti earning recognition after his strong performance for the Warhawks last week.
 
Bonaiuti earned his second GSC Player of the Week honor after his exceptional outting in the Warhawk's sweep of Montevallo last week.
 
BONAIUTI'S BROOM
Bonaiuti helped AUM to a 7-0 sweep over Montevallo last week, leading the way with wins in both doubles and singles. While in tandem with teammate Jami Savolainen, the duo took down the Falcon's Christian Bacher and Leonidas Lazarides 6-2 at the top doubles position. The senior followed up with a dominant 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 win over Montevallo's Bacher at the top singles position. Behind Bonaiuti's hard work, the Warhawks swept UM and secured its position as the fourth seed in the 2026 GSC Championship.


 
UP NEXT
Bonaiuti and the Warhawks head to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to compete in the 2026 Gulf South Conference Championship. The quarterfinal matchup between the No. 4 seed AUM and the No. 5 seed Mississippi College is set for Thursday, April 23 at 8 a.m.
