MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Auburn University at Montgomery baseball team (10-28) secured a thrilling 2-1 walk-off victory over Montevallo (19-21) on Tuesday afternoon, outlasting the Falcons in 10 innings. The Warhawks delivered in the final frame as Tucker Burns lifted a walk-off single to left field, driving in the winning run and sealing the extra-inning win for AUM.
Montevallo struck first in the opening frame when first baseman Jack Fitzgerald launched a solo home run to left field, giving the Falcons an early 1-0 advantage. From there, neither team scored in the next five innings, both combining for only four hits.
AUM finally broke through in the sixth inning. After shortstop Tucker Burns sparked the offense with a triple down the right field line, Brice Ainsworth delivered a sacrifice fly, his 17th RBI of the season, to center field, allowing Burns to tag and score to even the game at 1-1.
The game remained deadlocked as both teams threatened but couldn't bring a run across the plate.
Montevallo put pressure on in the seventh, loading the bases, but the Warhawks turned a clutch double play to escape the jam and keep the game tied. In the bottom on the ninth, AUM advanced Kyle Hipp to third, but they did not get the run across the plate.
In the 10th inning, the Warhawks delivered the decisive blow. Center fielder, Christopher McNeill, led off with a single and moved into scoring position on a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt by Chance Sweeney. Luke Turner reached on an intentional walk.
Turner and McNeill advanced 90 feet on a wild pitch, with the former moving to third and the latter going to second. Tucker Burns came through with the game-winning RBI single to right field, scoring McNeill and sealing the 2-1 extra-inning victory for AUM.

Brody Lindsey got the win for the Warhawks, improving to 1-4 on the season.
