MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Senior center fielder Chloe Baynes of the Auburn University at Montgomery softball team has been named Warhawk of the Week, as announced by the AUM Athletics Department, Wednesday afternoon.

Chloe Baynes put together an exceptional weekend at the plate, leading the Warhawks in their series against Valdosta State with a consistent and dynamic offensive presence.
Baynes hit .600 across three starts in center field, going 6-for-10 with five runs scored, two RBI, and a triple while drawing three walks and stealing six bases. She reached base in nine of her 13 plate appearances, including going 5-for-6 mark as a leadoff hitter, setting the tone early and often for AUM's offense. Baynes was especially effective in key situations, going 3-for-4 with runners on base and 3-for-5 with two outs.
In the series opener, she went 2-for-4 with three runs scored, a triple, a walk, and two stolen bases. After a quieter second game, Baynes responded in a big way in the series finale, delivering a historic 4-for-4 performance at the plate to tie the program record for hits in a single game. She added two runs, two RBI, a walk, and three stolen bases, reaching base in all five plate appearances.
Earlier in the week, Baynes was named to the 2026 NFCA Division II Player of the Year Watchlist.

Chloe Baynes has been a consistent offensive force for the Warhawks this season, starting all 36 games in center field and posting a .454 batting average. She has recorded 54 hits in 119 at-bats while scoring 40 runs and driving in 12, serving as a reliable presence at the top of the lineup. Baynes has added six extra-base hits, including four triples, while also drawing 21 walks to consistently put herself in scoring position.
A threat every time she reaches base, Baynes has stolen 33 bases on the season, using her speed to create pressure and generate offense for AUM. She has tallied multiple multi-hit performances throughout the year, including a five-hit game against Lee and several four-hit outings, highlighting her ability to produce at a high level. Her combination of consistency at the plate and impact on the basepaths has made her a key contributor for the Warhawks all season long.

Baynes and the Warhawks will be back in action on Friday, April 10 for Game One and Two of the series against the Union Bulldogs at the AUM Softball Complex. The first pitch of the double header is set for 3 pm.
