Softball Maxes Out CSC Academic All-District Honors with Five Selections

GREENWOOD, Ind. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its Academic All-District honorees for softball, with five Auburn University at Montgomery student-athletes earning recognition for their efforts both on the field and in the classroom.
 
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District honors, student-athletes must appear in at least 90 percent of their team's games or start at least two-thirds of them, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50, and be in at least their second year of eligibility, as true freshmen are ineligible due to experience requirements.
 
Rebecca Komers, Chloe Baynes, Olivia Watkins, Reese Cauley, and Sydni Free each met these stringent criteria to earn CSC Academic All-District honors.

 
REBECCA KOMERS
Senior | Criminal Justice Major | Psychology Minor | 4.0 GPA
Komers capped her career as one of the Warhawks' most consistent infielders, earning First Team NFCA All-South Region, First Team D2CCA All-South Region, and First Team All-Gulf South Conference honors while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in Criminal Justice with a Psychology minor.
 
In addition to her senior accolades, Komers was a Second Team All-GSC selection in 2025 and helped lead AUM to the 2024 GSC Tournament title and NCAA South Regional Championship. She was a three-time GSC Honor Roll member (2023–25) and earned Easton/NFCA Academic Honors in 2023.
 
Across her career, she also contributed more than 22 hours of community service, including work with Dream Court youth clinics and the Montgomery Humane Society.

CHLOE BAYNES
Senior | Communication Disorders Major | Psychology Minor | 3.83 GPA
Baynes closed one of the most decorated careers in program history, earning D2 CCA South Region Player of the Year, GSC Player of the Year, NFCA First Team All-South Region, and D2 CCA First Team All-South Region honors while posting a 3.83 GPA in Communication Disorders with a Psychology minor. She was a three-time GSC Honor Roll selection, including a perfect 4.0 semester.
 
Baynes set multiple program and conference records, becoming the first AUM player to surpass 300 career hits (322) while setting career marks in batting average (.433) and walks (95). She also set single-season records for runs scored (221), stolen bases (48), and hits (103 in 2024).
 
She contributed more than 27 hours of community service, including Dream Court clinics, the Montgomery Humane Society, and AUM Housing & Residence Life.

OLIVIA WATKINS
Junior | Kinesiology Major | 4.0 GPA
Watkins earned All-South Region honors after finishing third in the GSC with a .395 batting average while maintaining a 4.0 GPA in Kinesiology.
 
She totaled 58 hits, 34 runs scored, and a team-high 14 doubles, adding six home runs and 31 RBI. Watkins posted a 1.109 OPS, ranking among the conference leaders with a .470 on-base percentage (6th) and .639 slugging percentage (7th), while drawing 17 walks.
 
She was also named D2CCA Second Team All-South Region and contributed more than 13 hours of community service.

REESE CAULEY
Sophomore | Pre-Nursing Major | Psychology Minor | 3.69 GPA
Cauley emerged as one of Division II softball's top two-way players, earning GSC Pitcher of the Year, NFCA First Team All-South Region, D2 CCA First Team All-South Region, and First Team All-GSC honors while carrying a 3.69 GPA in Pre-Nursing with a Psychology minor. She was also named to the 2026 NFCA Pitchers to Watch List.
 
In the circle, Cauley went 28-4 with a 1.69 ERA across 207 innings, striking out 171 batters while holding opponents to a .190 average. She made 32 starts and delivered multiple shutouts in a key role during AUM's championship push.
 
She also hit .257 with six home runs and 23 RBI, adding a .457 slugging percentage. Her 2025 honors included All-GSC First Team, GSC All-Tournament Team, NFCA All-Region Second Team, and multiple weekly awards, along with over 11 hours of community service.

SYDNI FREE
Senior | Business Administration Major | 4.0 GPA
Free concluded her senior season as a steady presence in the circle for the Warhawks while earning a 4.0 GPA in Business Administration.
 
She appeared in 15 games with seven starts, posting a 6-1 record and a 1.56 ERA over 54.0 innings, allowing 12 earned runs on 48 hits while striking out 33 batters. She also recorded two complete games and a shutout.
 
Free also contributed extensive community service throughout her career, reflecting her leadership and commitment beyond the field.
