MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Auburn University at Montgomery head volleyball coach Breylee Linder has announced the hiring of Jose Conde as the program's assistant coach.
"I am so excited to welcome Jose to AUM Volleyball!" Linder said. "I am confident in his character, work ethic, and loyalty to the program and culture that we are building here. His strengths will help provide our student-athletes with a well-rounded coaching staff that is committed to developing them as people and as players while challenging them to pursue excellence every single day."
Conde joins the Warhawks after serving as a graduate assistant volleyball coach at Mississippi University for Women since 2025.
"I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to join Auburn University at Montgomery and become a part of this volleyball program," Conde said. "Coming from Puerto Rico, this journey has been filled with challenges, growth, and opportunities that have shaped both who I am as a person and as a coach. I am especially thankful to Coach Linder for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of this program. I do not take that trust or responsibility lightly."
During his time with the Owls, Conde has assisted with all aspects of the volleyball program, including player development, practice planning, scouting reports, match preparation, recruiting communication, and the evaluation of prospective student-athletes while helping guide the program to a third-place finish in conference play.
"I look forward to bringing passion and a commitment to excellence every day as we work together to build something special. I cannot wait to get to work with our student-athletes, represent AUM with pride, and help our program compete at the highest level."
Prior to his collegiate coaching experience, Conde coached at both Lafayette Senior High School and Jessie Clark Middle School in Lexington, Kentucky. During his time with both programs, he assisted with athlete development, practice organization, and team preparation while helping foster a positive and competitive environment for student athletes.
Before beginning his coaching career, Conde competed as a collegiate volleyball student-athlete at Midway University after growing up playing volleyball in his native Puerto Rico. His playing experience helped shape his passion for coaching and player development at the collegiate level.
Conde is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at Mississippi University for Women. He earned his bachelor's degree in Sport Management with double minors in Business Administration and Sports Marketing from Midway University, where he also completed an Associate of Science in Business Administration.
