MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Auburn University at Montgomery men's tennis team continued its success in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year, earning recognition as an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Men's All-Academic Team while eight Warhawks were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, the organization announced.
The Warhawks finished the academic year with a 3.72 team GPA, tying for the second-highest GPA among AUM's athletic programs. On the court, AUM posted an 8-11 overall record, including a 5-3 mark in Gulf South Conference play. The Warhawks climbed as high as No. 29 in the ITA national rankings and earned ranked victories over No. 30 Augusta, No. 17 Mississippi College and No. 50 Valdosta State during the season.

ITA Scholar Athletes
Giuseppe Bonaiuti | 3.83 GPA | Marketing
Bonaiuti capped off an outstanding senior season by earning Second Team All-GSC honors while receiving consistent national recognition in singles play, climbing as high as No. 47 in the ITA rankings. He finished with a 12-5 doubles record, including an 11-3 mark alongside Jami Savolainen at the No. 1 position, while also posting seven singles victories. In addition to being named CSC Academic All-District, Bonaiuti was selected as one of the 2026 GSC Commissioners Top Ten Award reecipients.
Daniel Margoulis | 3.83 GPA | General Business
Margoulis earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition after posting a 3.83 GPA while pursuing his degree in general business. On the court, he contributed six doubles victories.
Mark Nawa | 3.68 GPA | Kinesiology
Nawa recorded a 3.68 GPA in kinesiology while contributing throughout the lineup for the Warhawks. He finished with a winning 4-3 singles record and added five doubles victories during the season.
Raphael Pertusier | 4.00 GPA | Kinesiology
Pertusier earned a perfect 4.00 GPA in kinesiology to receive ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. He also contributed in both singles and doubles competition throughout the season.
Lucas Rosvall | 3.80 GPA | Economics
Rosvall posted a 3.80 GPA while studying economics. The sophomore compiled a winning 6-5 singles record and added two doubles victories during the 2026 campaign.
Jami Savolainen | 3.80 GPA | Finance
Savolainen enjoyed an impressive sophomore campaign, earning Second Team All-GSC honors while climbing as high as No. 62 in the ITA national rankings. He led the Warhawks with a 13-4 doubles record, including a 6-1 mark in conference play alongside Bonaiuti, while posting an 8-9 singles record and a 6-2 conference mark at the No. 2 position.
Guillermo Vedia Sanchez | 3.72 GPA | Finance
Vedia Sanchez earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors after recording a 3.72 GPA in finance. He contributed a balanced season on the court, finishing with six singles victories and a 9-9 doubles record, including a 6-2 mark in conference play.
Augustin Wallaert | 4.00 GPA | Kinesiology
Wallaert maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA in kinesiology to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition. On the court, he recorded five singles victories while competing throughout the season for the Warhawks.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must post a cumulative team grade point average of at least 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. Additionally, all student-athletes included must be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and all varsity letter winners are factored into the team's cumulative GPA. To earn ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must maintain a GPA of at least 3.50 for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
