VALDOSTA, Ga. – The Auburn University at Montgomery Warhawks volleyball team (2-11, GSC: 0-3) fell 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-22) to the Valdosta State Blazers (7-8, GSC: 1-2) Tuesday evening in Gulf South Conference action at The Complex.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set 1
The Blazers opened the match scoring six of the first seven points, establishing an early advantage. The Warhawks continued to battle throughout the set, pulling within two at 19-17 before Valdosta State extended its lead. Ultimately the home team closed the set on a three-point rally to take the opener 25-19.

Set 2
The Warhawks again found themselves playing from behind early, as Valdosta State jumped out to another 6-1 lead. AUM later responded with a three-point run to cut the deficit to 13-8, however, the Blazers continued to create separation, finishing the set 25-19 to take a 2-0 match lead.

Set 3
AUM came out with its strongest start of the night, scoring the first four points of the third set.
Chelsea Daffin recorded two service aces while
Jori Taylor and
Mya Lacey added early kills. The Blazers gradually erased the deficit and eventually took a 10-7 lead. Not long after, the Warhawks responded with a six-point run, turning a 13-10 deficit into a 16-13 advantage. Valdosta State battled back to even the set at 17-17 before taking control late. AUM remained within reach and scored two final points before VSU closed out the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.
