Auburn University at Montgomery Athletics

Prior to AUM: Sophomore guard Bryant James joins AUM after spending his freshman season at Gulf South Conference rival University of Montevallo, where he was named the program's Newcomer of the Year. The 6-foot-2 Florence, Alabama, native appeared in all 31 games, averaging 25.5 minutes per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the field and 37.7 percent from three-point range. He totaled 281 points, 109 rebounds, 61 assists and 35 steals during his freshman campaign. Prior to Montevallo, James had a decorated prep career at Florence High School, earning 7A First Team All-State, 7A Northwest Regional MVP, and 7A State All-Tournament Team honors as a senior. He plans to major in chemistry at AUM and follows in the athletic footsteps of his father, Shane James, who played collegiate basketball at Jacksonville State.
