MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery volleyball team hosted Albany State in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening, overcoming a 20-12 deficit in the third set to complete a 3-0 sweep (25-20, 25-11, 25-21) of the visiting Golden Rams.

• AUM improves to 9-14 on the season.

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
• Redshirt junior right-side hitter
Kheala Roberts paced the offense with 15 kills on a career-high .522 hitting percentage while also setting her personal best in blocks with four.
• Junior setter
Carly Smart dished out a match-high 26 assists with four kills.
• Sophomore defensive specialist
Haley Toler anchored the defense with 11 digs, followed by fellow sophomore defensive specialist
Kiana Yangson with seven and freshman outside hitter
Skylar Coppinger with six.
• Junior middle blocker
Brianna Garvin blocked three shots, marking the 11th time this season the Atlanta, Ga., product has averaged 1.0 blocks per set or higher in a match this season.
• Redshirt freshman middle blocker
Jaylyn Felder chipped in eight terminations with a pair of blocks.
• For Albany State, Justice Howard had 10 kills, Jahkishma Soto had 23 assists and Jalesia McClenton had 15 digs.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• AUM took the lead early in the first set, scoring eight of the opening 10 points to hold an 8-2 advantage. Albany State brought the deficit to two late at 19-17 using an 8-3 run, but a 6-3 finish for the Warhawks ended the frame.
• AUM controlled the second set, boasting a .417 hitting percentage versus a -.138 clip for the visitors. The Warhawks created a double-digit separation during a 7-0 run midway through the frame, ending the spree with a 19-6 lead.
• ASU led for the bulk of the final stanza, leading by as many as eight before a 13-1 run by AUM ended the match.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
• AUM finished the match with 37 kills on a .278 hitting percentage versus 25 on a -.010 clip for Albany State
• Both sides recorded 40 digs.
• ASU held a slim 5-4 edge in service aces.
• AUM boasted seven total blocks while the visitors recorded three.
