Women’s Soccer to Close out Season at Albany State

MOTNGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery women's soccer team will play their final game of the 2018 season on Friday, Nov. 2 when they take on Albany State from Albany, Ga.

About the Warhawks 
AUM (4-12) looks to finish off their 2018 campaign strong on Friday, after coming off of a 5-0 victory over Talladega College their last time out on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
 
The Warhawks matched a season-high with five goals in the victory, with four different players scoring a goal and four different Warhawks distributing an assist.
 
Ruby Mendez brought her season goal total to 17 on the night, a single-season mark that ranks second in the Gulf South Conference and tied for eighth all-time in AUM women's soccer history. Mendez moved up a rung in the all-time career scoring ladder with her pair of goals, moving into fourth-place all-time with 40 career goals scored. 
 
The Warhawks have scored 35 goals in 16 contests, for a pace of 2.19 per contest. Mayson Jaindl sits second on the team seven goals scored on the year, while Allison Singleterry (4) and Fabiana Alborghetti (2) have both logged multiple goals for AUM on the season.
 
In the assist stat column, Mendez's five in 2018 serves as the team high. Agnes Edlund, Melissa Fernandez and Stella Mazzillo have all logged three assists, while Alborghetti, Peyton Poe and Julia Simoes have all distributed two.
 
In goal, Dejon Fletcher (3-7) and Felicia Wester (1-5) teamed up for the Warhawk's third shutout of the season in their win over Talladega on Sunday. Fletcher holds the team-high in both minutes (1,006) and saves (60) on the year.
 
The Warhawks will look to make it two years in a row in which they have knocked off Albany State to conclude the season, after beating the Golden Rams 2-1 in their last contest of the year in 2017.
 
About the Golden Rams
Albany State (1-10-1) dropped a 3-1 contest to Georgia Southwestern State on Oct. 24 in their most recent match.
 
Five different players pace the Golden Ram offense that is averaging 0.42 goals per match. Lafaren Donaldson, Brittanie Evans, Jenna Wade, Haley Kincheloe and Alexus Lawson have all scored a goal for Albany State in 2018.
 
Goalkeeper Abby Whiteside has started in all 12 matches for the Golden Rams,  with 96 saves and a save percentage of just over 70 percent.
