MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Auburn Montgomery head men's soccer coach
Wulf Koch has announced the addition of goalkeeper Alexander Kraus for the 2018 season.
Kraus attends the Sophie Scholl Berufskolleg in Duisburg, Germany. He comes to AUM after playing for DJK Arminia Klosterhardt in Oberhausen, Germany.
"Alexander plays at the highest level of youth soccer in Germany, the U19 Bundesliga for a relatively small club that is renowned for their youth development ability," said Koch. "For us to sign this guy is a big time, for he can play at any level of collegiate soccer. He is an immediate upgrade in goal and I'm really excited that he's joining us."
In 2017 Arminia Klosterhardt finished in second place in the Niederrheinliga and made the Niederrheinliga Pokal Halbfinale in 2015 and 2017. His team played for the Kreis/Stadt Pokalsieger in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and was in the Aufstieg in die Niederrheinliga in 2015. His team finished in fourth place in the 2015 Kreisauswahl Oberhausen in Wedau, Germany.
The son of Andreas and Petra Ursula Kraus, Alexander is undecided on a major.
