Baseball Hosts Tuskegee For Two-Game Weekend Series

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Auburn Montgomery baseball team takes on Tuskegee University in a two-game series this weekend, starting on Friday, Feb. 16 at 4 p.m. with the second game slated for Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m.

About the Warhawks
AUM (4-2) remains home after a doubleheader split with NAIA No. 13 Tennessee Wesleyan on Friday, Feb. 9, concluding with a 7-6 triumph in a 10-inning comeback victory.
 
Offensively, Auburn Montgomery is hitting .266 (53-199) with a .397 slugging percentage off the strength of 12 doubles, one triple and four home runs while posting 23 RBI. Redshirt sophomore outfielder Hayden Friesen paces five Warhawks hitting over .300 with a .556 average, followed by senior infielder Nathan Langley, senior catcher Parker Moman, junior outfielder Josh Flowers and junior second baseman Jonathan Brandt with marks of .500, .400, .364 and .333, respectively. Langley leads the team with four doubles, with sophomore catcher Kyle Khoury recording the Warhawks' lone triple while Langley, Flowers and junior outfielder Matthew Zielonko all have one home run. Langley also boasts a team-leading 10 hits, five RBI, an .850 slugging percentage and a .643 on base percentage while tying for the most walks in the Gulf South Conference with eight.
 
On the mound, AUM sports a 4.09 ERA while tallying 34 strikeouts with 20 walks in 50.2 innings of work to date. Redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Hank Scott logs a team-high 11.0 innings with a team-best 10 strikeouts. Junior southpaw Ryan Burkett has made a team-leading four mound appearances, joining Langley, Scott and junior right-handed pitcher Alex Graulich with one victory while freshman righty Sam Steigert has a save and 0.00 ERA in 3.1 innings over three relief appearances.
 
About the Golden Tigers
Tuskegee (1-7) makes the trip to Montgomery after an 0-4 outing in the Peachtree City Classic, ending play with an 8-5 setback against Clark Atlanta on Sunday, Feb. 11.
 
The Bulldogs are hitting .180 (42-233) as a team with a .227 slugging percentage coming from six doubles, one triple and one home run while tallying 16 RBI. Tyari Albright leads TU with a .240 batting average and .320 slugging percentage and matching the team-highs with three runs scored and two doubles while Matthew Reed and Gabriel Selochan both have three RBI with Selochan posting Tuskegee's lone triple and Jared Steele having one homer.
 
On the mound, Tuskegee has a team ERA of 9.19 with 50 strikeouts and 54 walks in 62.2 innings. Nytorious Cooler makes a team-leading three mound appearances, while Trey Nelson logs a team-high 14.2 innings with Jordyn Thomas fanning a team-best 12 batters with the Golden Tigers' lone win.
