Kent Rollins Joins AUM Baseball Coaching Staff

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Auburn University at Montgomery head baseball coach Tanner Gordon has announced the addition of Kent Rollins to the program as an assistant coach.

"I'm excited to welcome Coach Rollins to the AUM Baseball family," Gordon said. "Throughout this process, we were looking for someone who not only has a strong baseball background, but also someone who is passionate about developing young men and building meaningful relationships. I have had the privilege of coaching him during his playing career and later serving alongside him on a coaching staff. I have seen firsthand the leadership, professionalism, and passion he brings to a program. His experience as a player and coach will be an incredible asset to our student-athletes, and I'm excited to see the impact he'll have on AUM Baseball."

Rollins joins the Warhawks after serving as the head baseball coach at Infinite Vision Sports Academy in Oakwood, Georgia, since 2024. In his role, he has led the academy's recruiting strategy and player development efforts, helping more than 30 student-athletes continue their careers at NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, and NJCAA programs. He has also worked closely with players and their families throughout the recruiting process while implementing position-specific development plans to prepare athletes for the collegiate level.

"I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join the coaching staff here at AUM," Rollins said. "Huge thank you to Tanner Gordon for believing in me enough to bring me on and assist him in leading this program to where it belongs. AUM Baseball has a tradition built by great coaches and players; I'm honored to have the opportunity to help carry that standard forward."

Prior to his time at Infinite Vision Sports Academy, Rollins served as the head baseball coach at Gordon State College from 2020-22. During his tenure, he directed all aspects of the program, including recruiting, roster management, practice planning, game strategy, player development, and academic oversight. He also built and managed rosters of more than 35 student-athletes.

Rollins also spent two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Murray State University, where he led recruiting operations, coordinated on-campus visits, developed the catchers, coached third base, and helped maintain the team's academic success.

Prior to Murray State, he served as an assistant coach at Georgia College & State University, helping the Bobcats capture back-to-back Peach Belt Conference Tournament championships and the 2018 Peach Belt Conference regular season title while contributing to the development of multiple Major League Baseball Draft selections.

Gordon and Rollins share a longstanding relationship that dates to Rollins' collegiate playing career when Gordon served as one of his coaches. The two later worked together on the coaching staff at Murray State before reuniting at AUM.

Before transitioning into coaching, Rollins played collegiately at Middle Georgia State College and Georgia Southern University. During his playing career, he served on Georgia Southern's Baseball Leadership Council before being selected by the San Diego Padres in the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft.

Rollins earned his Master of Science in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern University in 2018 after completing his bachelor's degree in general studies in 2016. He also earned an associate degree from Middle Georgia State College in 2014.
